So in regards to not just Lady but also with Trish/the DMC girls in a nutshell, apparently the shitwads over that Ninja Theory, especially they’re oh-so-beloved shitwad in chief egomaniac Tameem Antoniades himself decided to go off in an interview for the Escapist about DmC: Devil May Cry and all of the shit it decided to talk about DMC and the original franchise, calling them “prostitutes with guns” which can be found here for those who want to read it themselves. 

“We did that in Enslaved with Trip. People loved her, not because she had big breasts and high heels, but because she felt like someone who could be your girlfriend,” he said.

“That to me is more attractive than a prostitute walking around with a big gun,” he added. “Not to demean prostitutes – it’s a valid form of commerce.”

First things first: up until recently with the release of Senua’s Sacrifice Hellblade, Ninja Theory could barely make a badass and/or well developed female character to save their lives. And while there are a few exceptions/potential near-cases here and there, usually as side characters, they rarely, almost never get the full development and writing that they COULD get.
