xanxus learning that his mother was taken care by a random civillian woman and he falls in love her compassionate nature

mafiabosstsuna:

Since his mother’s name isn’t known, less alone her last name, I gave her name Antoniette. -Admin Lambo

You lived on the edge of a, rather large, village that could consider as a small town. You weren’t exactly a town mouse, but neither were you a country. So living, where you did was completely fine.

Every morning you woke up and left your small house. You walked down the path towards a house that was five minutes away from yours. Humming a song along, your lips turned in a smile when you opened the doors. You greeted an older woman, who was sitting by table.

“Oh, [Name],” She called and gave you a warm smile. “You’re early today.”

“I couldn’t sleep,” you answered and walked over to the cupboard to prepare breakfast. Spotting a small bag beside the cooking stove, you frowned. “Was someone here?” You looked at her, your eyebrows knitted together.

“Oh, my son came.” Her smile widened.

“Xanxus?” You asked, feeling your own smile growing wider. She started talking about her son when he was only a child and how happy he was.

You heard many good stories of her son, who happened to be boss of Varia. But at the same time you were also confused. You heard gossips and whispers of a young Varia boss, who wanted to kill the Vongola heir to become boss. It confused you, but you didn’t show that you heard well. The whole town knew you helped the woman, whose son was the main protagonist of the gossips. You were unsure of how to feel about her son, but there was pity and anger for his need of power.

Letting out a frustrated sigh, you held the bags in your hands. You turned around, ready to walk back to the house, only to bump into a man that you have seen for the first time. The bag slipped through your fingers, but he held it, his red eyes staring down at you.

“S-sorry…” You didn’t mean to stutter as you held the bag he handed to you. Averting your gaze, you lowered your head and continued your way. Feeling his eyes on your back, you turned your head, but looked back in front when your eyes met his. You felt your cheeks heating up and you paced up, hoping to get out of the town as soon as possible.

“Are you alright?” The woman asked, her dark eyes looked at you, worry visible in them.

“Yes,” You smiled. “Now, what would you like to eat, Antoniette?” you asked, despite your thoughts running to the man every now and then. The longer and many times you saw him, more curious of him you became.

Xanxus wasn’t a fool. He knew he wasn’t welcomed in the town where his mother lived. Especially not after his little coup attempt years ago, but when he saw you, he had to look twice. He saw a photo of you in his mother’s house, on which you smiled while holding her hand. Although he didn’t visit his mother since she left him with Nono, he felt glad, knowing that someone was taking care of her.

He followed you in the shadows. Far from anyone’s praying eyes, so when you bumped into him, which was his intent, he knew you were someone he wants to get to know. It was a new feeling that left him perplexed and thrown off guard. He has never felt like this before.

Each time he met you at the market or the store, he wanted to make you stay longer, engaging you in conversations. You brought out a side that he never knew, less alone imagined, he had. He knew if anyone from Varia saw him talking with a civilian, there would be no end to the teasing, less alone questions of his well-being from Squalo. It was the last thing he wanted to work with, so he asked you to meet at a bar, to which rarely anyone goes anymore.

He learnt that you helped his mother since you moved to the town, preferring silence to the loudness. He watched you help older people carrying bags and expecting nothing in return. He didn’t miss how people eyed them from the side, giving him warning glances like they wanted to protect you. He didn’t blame them. He liked your humanitarian and kind side. Learning of your past from his mother, whenever he visited, he couldn’t help but be in awe at the hardships you beat.

He could see his subordinates laughing that a civilian woman was the sole reason he visited his mother. It made his days when you smiled at him, and wanted to make people pay if the corner of your lips didn’t reach your eyes.

But then one day it happened what both of you least expected. It was like every time before that he visited the town and met with you in the bar. When it was late in the evening, he accompanied you back to your house, like a gentleman he made you believe he was. He knew you started feeling something for him and he didn’t blame you. There was something on you as well that pulled him closer each day more.

“It was nice seeing you again, Mr. Whose-Name-I-Still-Don’t-Know.” You smiled with a scowl that he returned with a laugh and his head thrown back.

“In time you’ll know.” He answered and tipped his head in greeting, readying himself to leave. But you didn’t have any of that.

Reaching out for his hand, you looking into his red eyes and before he could speak, your lips were on his. His eyes shot wide open, but wrapped his arm around your lower back, pulling you closer to his broad chest. You felt him smirk, mentally cursing that you fell for his trap and pulled away.

“What was that for?” He asked, his eyes half open as he stared at you.

All you did was smile and bit your lower lip, taking a step away. “I wonder,” You shrugged innocently, earning yourself a groan from him. Unlocking the doors, you turned his way once again, eyes fixed on him and backed in, licking your upper lip. “Why don’t you come in and find out?”

And Xanxus wasn’t someone to ignore an opportunity when he sees one.
